An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) — also called a Periodic Inspection and Testing report — is a detailed assessment of the safety and condition of a property's electrical installation. It tests every circuit, checks the consumer unit, verifies earthing and bonding, and identifies any observations that present a risk or fall short of current Irish wiring standards.

Moloney Electrical carries out EICR inspections for homeowners, buyers, sellers, landlords, and commercial premises across Dublin and Kildare. We're Safe Electric and RECI registered, which means our reports are accepted by mortgage lenders, insurers, solicitors, and the Residential Tenancies Board.

An EICR is not a pass or fail document in the sense of a car NCT. It grades every observation using a standard classification: C1 means immediate danger — the issue presents a risk of injury and must be remedied before the installation is used again. C2 means potentially dangerous — urgent remedial action is required. C3 means improvement recommended — not immediately dangerous but worth addressing. FI means further investigation required before a classification can be assigned. A satisfactory EICR means no C1 or C2 observations were identified.
