What an EICR checks
A registered electrician inspects and tests the fixed installation, including:
- The consumer unit and all circuits
- Earthing and bonding arrangements
- Signs of damage, wear or overloading
- Compliance with current wiring regulations
Who needs one?
Landlords, businesses and anyone buying or selling a property benefit from an EICR. For rentals it is increasingly expected as proof the property is electrically safe for tenants.
