Do this first

If something does not seem right, prioritise safety:

• Switch off at the main board if it is safe to reach
• Unplug affected appliances
• Keep everyone away from water near the fault
• Ventilate the room if you notice a burning smell

What never to do

Never touch a board or cable with wet hands, never poke inside a socket or fitting, and never reset a circuit that keeps tripping — repeated tripping is a warning sign, not a nuisance.
